Yoga

I started this morning off with my breakfast protein shake and my grape amino drink. After my shower, I tried out a modified version of the yoga poses in the link below. I had ankle/foot surgery a year ago and I am still working on getting my range of motion/flexibility back. So, I am not able to do some of the poses exactly like they are shown. But, I will get there!

Virtual Trainer and Lose It!

I decided very recently to hire a virtual trainer to help me reach my fitness and weight loss goals this year. I am beginning this journey tomorrow for the next 10 months in which I will be trying to lose 90 pounds. I plan to use my local gym, the pavement, and my treadmill to help me shed pounds and gain muscle. I want to be strong both mentally and emotionally. I think that exercise and getting healthy will help combat stress and just be an all around better person. In conjunction with the trainer and am going to use the fee app called Lose IT! It is very motivating because it tells you a date you will meet your goal if every day were like that day.

I plan on taking my measurements tomorrow and weigh in weekly on Mondays. I will also be taking pictures so that I can see my progress!

The Green Breakfast Smoothie

So, if you are not living a healthy lifestyle already or just starting out you know how challenging it can be to get in all the fruits and veggies + dairy everyday. Although, this doesn't look yummy to most it has to be one of the best tasting smoothies I have found. Primarily it tastes like a banana milk shake.

Here is the recipe:

1/2 of a frozen banana
1/2 cup of frozen fruit (unsweetened)
1/2 cup of low fat vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup sweetened vanilla almond milk
1 Tablespoon of Honey
1 cup of spinach- hence the green color

Total Calories: 287
2 servings of fruit + veggies for the day
1 serving of dairy

Enjoy!
